Nue’s Exorcist is getting a TV anime in summer 2027. The adaptation was announced on 12 October with a new teaser visual. In Japan, the series is set to air on TV Asahi’s nationwide network.
The announcement gives the release season. An exact premiere day and international streaming schedule are still absent from this reveal, so summer 2027 is the date to keep in mind for now.
Kota Kawae’s manga follows Gakuro Yajima, a student who can see spirits. Those beings are drawn to human sadness and anger. Meeting Nue, a spirit with a love of pop culture, pulls him into an exorcist adventure. VIZ lists the series under comedy, school life and supernatural — a useful starting point if the title is new to you.
The first anime visual brings Nue and Gakuro together in a red-and-black composition, with a huge blade cutting across the image.
For manga readers, the fun question is what needs to survive the move to animation: the character chemistry, the comedy, or a favourite fight. Keep specific scenes spoiler-free for people discovering the series through this announcement.
Nue’s Exorcist began running in Weekly Shonen Jump in May 2023. VIZ’s series page is the publisher’s English introduction, with manga previews and reading options: https://www.viz.com/nue-s-exorcist
