Asta chose violence. Black Clover’s new battle visual is here.

Spoiler warning: this story shows Black Clover Season 2, episode 3. Asta is the first character in the anime’s newly announced battle-visual series, revealed on October 17. The official image puts the viewer on the receiving end of his sword swing. Devil Union is the focus: black armour, red highlights and an expression that is very bad news for whoever is standing in front of him.

The best kind of bad news

The official announcement describes this as the opening entry in a continuing battle-visual project. More characters will follow, but their identities and reveal dates have not been announced in this update. That is the fun of this particular image: it frames Asta from the enemy’s point of view. The sword is coming towards us, rather than being held for a calm character portrait. The red glow, heavy black silhouette and close framing make the threat instantly readable.

Grandeur gets another moment

There is a second reason to revisit the official update: it also shares the insert-song scene from episode 3. Snow Man’s “Grandeur”, originally the opening theme for the first season’s thirteenth cour, returns in the sequence. An old opening coming back inside a new fight is an easy nostalgia button to press. If you want to experience the timing rather than just read about it, finish the episode first, then use the scene linked from the official announcement.

The update also introduces character setting art for Lilith and Nahama, alongside a cast comment. That gives fans more than a poster to compare: the full announcement puts the enemies’ designs beside Asta’s new image. The contrast is part of the appeal. You can look at the shapes, colours and expressions without needing to unpack future manga events.
