Kishimoto is drawing Naruto again. Here’s what the NYCC reveals mean.
A new Kishimoto manga, Team 7’s Ninkū crossover and Project Rasengan: the trailers, confirmed details and dates worth putting in your calendar.
BySören CreutzburgNaruto’s birthday came with a lot more than cake. The NYCC stage brought a new manga drawn by Masashi Kishimoto, a return to young Team 7 and plans stretching across anime, cards and games. Here’s how the announcements fit together, what you can watch today and which dates are actually confirmed.

Kishimoto is back at the drawing board
A new Naruto manga drawn by Masashi Kishimoto was revealed at New York Comic Con on October 10. The super teaser shows manga storyboards, the seventh Hokage’s stone face under construction and familiar faces from Team 7. Its revealed logo reads Shadow Rising Naruto. Seeing Kishimoto’s drawings again is the big draw here; the teaser leaves plenty of the story to discover. More information is promised at Jump Festa 2027 on December 19–20, 2026. A publication date, release format and chapter schedule have not been announced.
Young Team 7 gets one more mission
Naruto × Ninkū is a separate anime project with four new episodes in production. Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura are sent on a mission, with Naruto standing in as leader because Kakashi is busy. They end up in another world and meet Fūsuke. The reunion matters beyond a familiar character lineup: Ninkū helped inspire Kishimoto to create Naruto, so this brings his influences into the story itself. Kishimoto and Ninkū creator Kōji Kiriyama supervise all four episodes. The official site names PIERROT FILMS, director Noriyuki Abe and character designer Tetsuya Nishio; FLOW performs the opening GO!!! and ending Viva★Rock. There is no announced air date yet.
What Project Rasengan actually tells us
Project Rasengan brings the franchise’s next manga, anime, card and game developments together under a 2027–2029 roadmap. It gives fans a wider view of what is being planned, while several entries remain unrevealed. Treat those years as a roadmap rather than a release date for every project shown. A new official key visual accompanies the announcement. Naruto Mobile is also getting a worldwide release, but its date is still to be decided and availability and languages can differ by country. The live-action film is in progress, with no release date announced in this roundup.
Card-game fans do have a date to circle
The Naruto Card Game is planned for a simultaneous worldwide launch in June 2027. Its first three ready-to-play starter decks focus on Naruto, Sasuke and Gaara, alongside the Here Comes Naruto Uzumaki! booster set. That makes the starter decks a useful option to keep an eye on if you want to learn the game with friends. Trial events are planned from early 2027; participating stores and further details are still to come. Keep an eye on the official card-game page for local demos and the rules before choosing a deck.
What to watch now, and what comes next
Start with the official manga super teaser above, then watch the Naruto × Ninkū teaser for a different kind of Team 7 reunion. If the manga is your main interest, the next useful calendar entry is December 19–20, 2026: Jump Festa 2027 is the next announced checkpoint for more details. If you are here for the crossover, enjoy the footage while we wait for its own air-date announcement. The original Naruto title page below is a way back into that world; it is not a listing for the unreleased manga or crossover. Which reveal pulled you straight back into your Naruto era?
