Skip and Loafer fans, this is quite a change of mood. Misaki Takamatsu’s single-volume sci-fi manga Ark of the Canaries is getting an English print edition through Kodansha Print Club in April 2027. Kodansha announced it at Kodansha House NY on October 15.

A school day, then the sky changes.

Yuri is nearing high-school graduation when a strange mass fills the sky and tears her everyday life apart. She wakes somewhere unfamiliar, with a man in a lab coat nearby. Her goal is to get home. Kodansha presents this as a story about humanity in a dying world.

The complete, one-volume format is the appeal here: a different route into Takamatsu’s work without another long series commitment. This announcement concerns an English print edition, not a new anime. April 2027 is the release month; an exact day is not listed.
