Source biography
He was born in Shimonoseki, Yamaguchi Prefecture. After graduating high school he got a job as a barber. When he was around 28-years old, he realized he wanted to become a mangaka. He is a self-taught artist. He became Hinata Takehi's assistant, without pay. He learned a lot of manga techniques under Takeshi.

Before becoming serialized, he created numerous one-shots for manga contests. One of them involved karate. Usokui was his first published manga.
Aside from making manga, Sako also practices boxing. On August 10, 2025, he won the OFB (Oyaji Fight Boxing) Japan championship, a senior boxing association focusing on fighters who are over 30 years old.
