In 2013, at the age of 24, he was awarded the 78th Treasure Newcomer Semi-Finalist Manga Award for Uchuu Kankou C-Arc. In 2020, Undead Unluck, Tozuka's manga series that premiered earlier that year, won the Tsugi ni Kuru Manga Award for Up-and-Coming Manga. He is colorblind.
