His role as a main animator on Ikki Tousen: Dragon Destiny attracted a lot of attention. At ufotable he is one of the studio's key members among people like Akira Matsushima, Masayuki Kunihiro and Masaru Kimura.

He specializes in effects that scatter fine, blocky debris similar to the style of Hidetsugu Itou. Not only that, but he also inserts liquid effects among the debris, which was called "Abe Juice" by the staff working on Accel World according to Yousuke Kabashima.

Held in high regard by Yasuomi Umetsu.
