One of Japan’s top horror/sci-fi writers, Kikuchi Hideyuki (菊地 秀行) was born in Chōshi, Japan in 1949. He attended Aoyama Gakuin University and studied under famous author Koike Kazuo. His first novel, Makai Toshi Shinjuku (Demon City Shinjuku), was published in 1982, to be followed by dozens more over the years in horror, SF&F, and adventure genres. Over the past two decades, several of his works have been adapted into animated movies including VAMPIRE HUNTER D and his first novel, DEMON CITY SHINJUKU.
