Sanketsu Shoujo Sayuri (lit. "Suffocating girl Sayuri") was a Japanese singer, musician and songwriter, signed under Ariola Japan. Sayuri labeled herself as a 2.5D-parallel singer/songwriter, meaning she expressed herself through the internet in the 2D world and through live performances in the 3D world. For her 2D appearance she created various characters, mainly used in her music videos. While they all bear the name of Sayuri, each character's name differentiates itself by a different mix of Hiragana and Katakana (さゆり, サユリ, サゆり).
Sayuri made her major debut with the single "Mikazuki", which was used as the ending theme to the Fuji TV anime "Ranpo Kitan: Game of Laplace". Her first full-length album “Mikazuki no Kokai”, released May 17, 2017, debuted at #1 on Oricon’s daily album chart.
Sayuri announced her marriage to the vocalist and composer Ama Arashi (from the music group Misekai) on March 18th, 2024.
On September 27, 2024, her husband posted an announcement on her X/Twitter account that she had passed away on September 20, 2024 at the age of 28.
